Bella Vista, Payson AZ
This contemporary second home redefined the idea of a cabin in the woods. This lot was buried without apparent view but when Rick requested a tall ladder, he demonstrated how a walkout basement level would elevate the main floor of the house so the kitchen, dining, great room and master all would capture stunning panoramic views. Stone walls, standing seam metal roofs and metal fascias keep the vacation home a vacation by minimizing the amount of maintenance required. In this case, our clients had a talent for and strong sense of the interior design they wanted to achieve. We worked with them to help highlight their design sense with our expertise regarding products and function. Our design influences featured steel baseboards, strap metal accents on slab interior doors, and a hidden TV assembly for the Great Room. Stone walls occur inside and out as well as interior wood floors which appear to continue through the window walls to exterior synthetic wood decks of a matching finish which creates a seamless open-air living space when the large folding glass doors are opened. The result is a beautiful pine top escape from the heat for our Scottsdale-based clients.
